Our Mission

The Learning Disabilities Association of Iowa is dedicated to identifying causes and promoting prevention of learning disabilities and to enhancing the quality of life for all individuals with learning disabilities and their families by:
Encouraging effective identification and intervention,

Fostering research, and

Protecting the rights of individuals with learning disabilities under the law.

Our Purpose

The purpose of the Learning Disabilities Association of Iowa is to advance the education and general welfare of children and youth of normal, near-normal, and potentially normal intelligence who have learning disabilities of a perceptual, conceptual, or coordinative nature, or any combination thereof, or any combination thereof together with other related problems that handicap such children and youth in learning through the normal or accepted processes.

Our Vision

All individuals with learning disabilities are empowered to thrive and to participate fully in society;

The incidence of learning disabilities is reduced by appropriate prevention practices; and
Learning disabilities are universally understood and effectively addressed.
